The Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke (NICHS) has recently launched its Heart Failure Campaign in conjunction with World Heart Day, aiming to educate the public about heart failure and its symptoms while encouraging individuals to seek medical attention. The campaign will run until mid-November and includes a dedicated information hub on the NICHS website to support those who may be affected or have received a diagnosis. The initiative also promotes the organisation’s cardiac services designed to assist people living with heart failure. More information can be found on the Heart Failure Campaign page.
In a powerful move to raise awareness, NICHS featured the inspiring stories of three brave mothers who faced heart failure diagnoses at just 32 and 43 years old. These personal narratives, shared through local press outlets, aim to highlight the importance of recognising symptoms and seeking timely medical intervention. By connecting emotionally with the community, the campaign seeks to emphasise that early detection can lead to better management of the condition. For further insights into these mothers’ journeys and to learn more about heart failure, you can read their stories here.
