In the interview, Birgit highlights the urgent need for an EU Cardiovascular Health Plan to tackle the rising burden of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). She explains that such a plan is essential for creating a structured, long-term approach to improving heart health across Europe.

We need a structured, long-term approach to cardiovascular health at the EU level—without it, we risk missing the opportunity to save millions of lives.
