On 1 March 2004, The European Heart Network started a 32 month project on “Children, Obesity and Associated Avoidable Chronic Diseases”. The aim of the project is to contribute to reducing the obesity epidemic and associated avoidable chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, among children and young people.
EHN also undertook to evaluate whether the project will lead to increased awareness of the impact of food marketing and increased reported activity in combatting the negative effects on current consumption patterns.
In order to determine whether the project has led to the expected result, ResCon Research and Consultancy completed a baseline survey and a post-test survey study. The reports of these two surveys can be found below, both in a long and short version.
