The European Heart Network adopted its position paper on the European Commission proposal for a Regulation on Clinical Trials. The proposal published this summer reviews the current Clinical Trials Directive, and aims at improving clinical research in Europe.
EHN broadly supports the proposal from the European Commission, acknowledging the efforts to provide a better-functioning network for developing and testing new treatment in Europe. However, EHN regrets the lack of legal provisions on the importance of gender balance in clinical research.
