The European Heart Network is collaborating with the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Patient Forum on an upcoming webinar exploring what the new ESC Guidelines on Cardiac Rehabilitation mean for patients and caregivers.
Taking place on World Heart Day, the webinar will look at how patients and caregivers can better understand and use ESC Guidelines, including the patient version of the guidelines, to support informed conversations with healthcare professionals and advocate for their own care.
The discussion will bring together clinical expertise and patient perspectives, with Dr Irene Gibson from the National Institute for Prevention and Cardiovascular Health in Ireland hosting the session, alongside Professor Maria Back from Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Sweden and Dr Rogier Veltrop from the ESC Patient Forum in the Netherlands.
We are particularly pleased that Meaghan O’Brien from the Irish Heart Foundation, representing EHN Young Hearts, will join the webinar to share her patient journey and perspective on self-advocacy. She will reflect on the importance of patients being actively involved in decisions around their rehabilitation and recovery.
