New AI4HF podcast episodes explore patient perspectives on trustworthy AI in heart failure care

30 Jun 2026

How can Artificial Intelligence support people living with heart failure in ways that truly matter to patients?

Two new episodes of the HFA Cardio Talk podcast, produced as part of the AI4HF Horizon Europe project, explore this question through conversations with patient advocates about the opportunities, challenges and future of AI in healthcare.

Hosted by the European Heart Network (EHN), the episodes feature discussions led by EHN Patients & Research Manager Mehitabel Holler and EHN EU Projects Manager Gregorio Sambataro, who speak with people living with heart disease about their experiences and expectations of AI-enabled healthcare.

Across both conversations, several common themes emerge. Patients recognise the potential of AI to improve prediction, monitoring and personalised care, while emphasising that these technologies should support, not replace, the relationship between patients and healthcare professionals. The discussions also highlight the importance of transparency, trustworthy data, patient involvement throughout the development process, and improving AI literacy among both healthcare professionals and the public.
