On 29 September, the Dutch Heart Foundation will organize Dress Red Day: the national action day when the Netherlands turns red to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease in women.

With around 100 buildings lit up in red across the country, support from celebrities, influencers, and media coverage through outlets such as Libelle, Margriet and DPG Media, we will shine a light on the fact that every day, 53 women die of cardiovascular disease. We mobilize companies, municipalities, and citizens to wear red, linking this to fundraising initiatives that help us finance vital research into cardiovascular disease in women.

  • 100 illuminated buildings across the country – with additional activations: the locations will host conferences, lectures, theater performances, and more. We will also take to the streets ourselves with fundraising activities at participating venues.
  • Media coverage via Libelle, Margriet and DPG Media (Libelle: 2 personal stories; Margriet: 2 expert contributions).
  • Collaborations with influencers and Dutch celebrities.
  • Recruiting donors and recurring supporters: support research and receive a unique phone strap or a limited-edition Dress Red Day sweater as a thank-you.
