The EU Cardiovascular Health Plan In response to the growing burden of cardiovascular diseases, the EU Cardiovascular Health Plan aims to create a cohesive framework for action across member states. This plan focuses on enhancing prevention strategies, ensuring early detection, and improving access to treatment, all while promoting healthier lifestyles. By fostering collaboration among policymakers, healthcare professionals, and advocacy groups, the EU seeks to reduce the incidence of cardiovascular diseases and improve health outcomes for all citizens. The European Alliance for Cardiovascular Health (EACH), of which EHN is a key member and led the secretariat in 2023, launched the CVH Plan for Europe during a high-level policy meeting on May 16, 2022. This historic initiative addresses the urgent need for comprehensive action to reduce premature and preventable deaths in Europe. The plan also aims to improve access to high-quality cardiovascular risk assessments and multidisciplinary care pathways for everyone, paving the way for a better quality of life.
