The EHN Screening Task Force has just updated its paper on cardiovascular risk assessment programmes.

It reviews the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of programmes aimed at identifying people at high risk of developing and dying prematurely from CVD. The update takes into account findings from recent studies on the topic.

EHN recommends that the European Commission, as part of a comprehensive EU strategy on cardiovascular diseases, makes a proposal for an EU recommendation on national cardiovascular risk-assessment programmes to be implemented by the EU Member States.
