From 28 February to 2 March 2023, the European Heart Network (EHN) will join various CVD and diabetes stakeholders at the European Parliament for the exhibition, “Let’s make a joint health check for CVD and diabetes happen.”

During the three-day exhibition, relevant stakeholders will discuss the importance of early detection programmes and advocate for the implementation of a joint health check for CVD and diabetes that is targeted at high risk individuals. The event is hosted by the MEP István Ujhelyi (S&D, Hungary) and organized in collaboration with the International Diabetes Federation, the European Diabetes Forum, the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations, and EHN.

The exhibition will be attended by patient representative organisations, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and patients living with CVD and diabetes. Together, they will discuss the need to establish a joint targeted health check to reduce preventable and premature deaths from CVD and diabetes in Europe, thus limiting the burden of these diseases on European healthcare systems.

The exhibition will include a rich panel of speakers, among which the MEPs Maria da Graça Carvalho (EPP, Portugal), Christel Schaldemose (S&D, Denmark), Sirpa Pietikäinen (EPP, Finland), and Nicolás González Casares (S&D, Spain), who are all members of the MEP Heart Group and of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI). Birgit Beger, EHN CEO, will also join the discussion on 28 February.

The exhibition is open to everyone who holds an access badge to enter the European Parliament.
Should you be unable to attend in person, you can follow EHN on Twitter at @ehnheart for updates throughout the event.
