Ireland and Lithuania, the outgoing and incoming Presidencies of the Council of the European Union respectively, reaffirmed last week their strong support to the revised EU Tobacco Products Directive (TPD).

On the occasion of World Heart Day, 29 September 2012, new statistics on cardiovascular diseases are released.  Figures show a significant drop in mortality, but the scale of the problem is huge and is likely to increase.
