Birgit is a well-respected, senior executive with more than 20 years of EU public policy experience. Previously, Birgit acted as Secretary-General of the Standing Committee of European Doctors (CPME) and CEO of the European Cancer Organisation (ECCO).

Floris Italianer, President of EHN and CEO Dutch Heart Foundation said: "EHN’s vision is that every European has a right to a life free from avoidable cardiovascular disease, which is the number one cause of death in Europe.
