To manage our patient and research portfolios, EHN is looking for a (m/f)

Manager Patients and Research.

In this role, you will be supporting the EHN’s patients and research-funding member organisations and helping them build their capacity. To that end you will be responsible for preparing meetings/seminars. You will be representing EHN in the European Medicines Authority (EMA) Patients' and Consumers' Working Party and liaising with EHN’s wider stakeholders.

Function
In this role, you will be supporting the EHN’s patients and research-funding member organisations and helping them build their capacity. To that end you will be responsible for preparing meetings/seminars. You will be representing EHN in the European Medicines Authority (EMA) Patients' and Consumers' Working Party and liaising with EHN’s wider stakeholders.

Specific tasks include:

  • liaise with EHN patients’ group and ensure active interaction between them through meetings/seminars as well as other means of exchanging information
  • establish priority issues on which to develop EHN papers/positions and bring together the evidence base/identify research gaps
  • follow developments at EU level in terms of initiatives, legislative proposals etc. with an impact on or relevance to heart and stroke patients and research, and organise EHN responses/statements
  • coordinate EHN responses to EU legislative proposals with an impact on or relevance to patients and research
  • liaise with EHN’s research-funding members and ensure interaction between them inter-alia through the EHN Research Platform
  • analyse and respond to requests for partnership in research projects.

Profile

  • University degree or education/training relevant for the job
  • At least 10 years professional experience
  • Patient and persistent
  • Highly developed team spirit
  • Good communicator and sense of diplomacy
  • Flexible and able to multi-task
  • Experience within an international and multi-cultural environment is advantageous
  • Languages: English (mother tongue or equivalent); French useful; more European languages an asset
  • Need to know the EU policy-making procedures and structure of the institutions, role of NGOs and lobbying organisations “How Brussels Works”.
